Sri Lankan Coconut Tuna Curry Recipe - Serves 4
 
Ingredients
1/4 teaspoon (1ml) chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon (1ml) ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) salt
1/4 teaspoon (1ml) curry powder
3 cups (750ml or 26 fl oz) coconut cream
1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
4 fresh green chillies, finely chopped
4 curry leaves
500g (1lb 1oz) tuna fillet, rinsed under cold water, dried with kitchen paper and cut into 2.5cm (1 inch) pieces
Method
Add the chilli powder, turmeric, salt and curry powder to a large bowl and mix well
Add the coconut cream to the spices in the bowl and mix well
Transfer the bowl contents to a large frying pan or saucepan
Add the onion, tomato, chillies and curry leaves and mix well
Add the tuna pieces and mix well
Bring the ingredients to a the boil and cook for 8 minutes (or until the tuna is cooked), stirring now and again
Serve hot on rice
