Look for recipes with your favourite ingredients or by dish name
Tomato and Onion Raita Recipe - Serves 8
Ingredients
2 cups (500ml or 1 pint) unsweetened yogurt
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
2 medium onions, peeled and finely chopped
2 fresh green chillies, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) chilli powder
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed
2.5cm (1 inch) piece of fresh ginger root, peeled and grated
1 teaspoon (5ml) sugar
1 teaspoon (5ml) ground black pepper
1 tablespoon (15ml) fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
Method
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl
Cover with kitchen film and put into the fridge for at least an hour to chill
Serve as a side dish with biryani or a hot curry
