The Thanksgiving Festivals will be upon us before we know it.
This year, the Canadian Thanksgiving is on Monday, 8th October and the USA Thanksgiving is on Thursday, 22nd November.
In both countries, Thanksgiving is a holiday (vacation) and a time for families to get together around the dinner table. And the one thing that you will see on most dinner tables is a turkey. And the one thing you see on the table over the next few days is still the turkey.
The National Turkey Federation has surveyed turkey consumption and a staggering 88% of people in the US eat turkey on Thanksgiving and the average weight of the turkey is 16 lbs (over 7kg). These are big birds.
There is often leftover turkey for the next few days.
And one tasty way to use up leftover turkey is to make a leftover turkey curry. The Curry Focus website has some great leftover turkey recipes, amongst the turkey recipes, that are easy to follow. Most of the recipes give you a yummy curry in less than 30 minutes (the turkey has already been cooked). All you have to do is make sure that you have the required spices.
You can easily make a milder curry by using less chilli or curry powder. Of course, you can make the curry hotter by adding more chilli. If you’re not sure then you can have a raita ready to eat with the curry – a raita is a tasty way to cool down a curry and tastes delicious even if it isn’t needed for that purpose.
Make sure that you enjoy your Thanksgiving.
