Tiffin Cup Winner 2010

The “cook off” for the Tiffin Cup took place in Parliament’s Bellamy’s restaurant on Tuesday 9th November and the winner is the Jewel in the Crown restaurant from Swindon.

The Tiffin Cup is a competition that is organised by curry-loving members of parliament where each MP nominates a restaurant in their constituency to be the best South Asian restaurant.

The nominated restaurants are visited and judged by mystery diners and the best restaurants are invited to the “cook off” in Bellamy’s where the chef from each of the finalists prepares a dish that is used to judge the best restaurant.

The dishes are judged by a panel of chefs and the winner is chosen.

All of the food made at Bellamy’s is sold and this year the money goes to World Vision.

More about this annual competition can be found on the sponsor’s website.

So if you live in Swindon, or are passing through, then why not go and to the Jewel in the Crown and sample an award winning curry?
