The 2010 Scottish Curry Awards were awarded at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel on 15th June, 2010.
As well as finding out who won the awards, the evening attendees also enjoyed good food and live entertainment.
The Restaurant of the Year Award went to Bukharah in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
And it comes as no surprise to see that the Chef of the Year Award went to Mahrukh Butt from Bukharah.
The Takeaway of the Year Award also went to a Glasgow curry-house, the Banana Leaf in Old Dumbarton Road.
The Team of the Year Award went to the crew at the Ashoka in Rankine Street, Johnstone.
The Curry Lover of the Year Award went to Christopher Cameron and Graeme Virtue of Trampy and the Tramp’s Glasgow of Curry. Trampy and the Tramp’s Glasgow of Curry is a Curry Club that is dedicated to trying out as many Glasgow curry-houses as possible.
The Lifetime Achievement Award 2010 went to Sohan Singh who is an entrepreneur, based in Glasgow, who sepnds a lot of time raising money for charity and helping people in the restaurant industry).
And the Curry King or Queen of 2010 Award went to Dr. Wali Uddin who has been in the UK curry business since 1967 and who also spends a lot of time doing charity work and promoting curry cuisine.
