Fish Curry with Lemon Grass Recipe Review

Curry time again now that the weekend is here. I looked through the great range of curry recipes on the Curry Focus website and found the Fish Curry with Lemon Grass recipe that looked pretty easy to make.

I bought some nice fresh fish fillets from a supermarket and grabbed some lemon grass from my local greengrocer.

This is a really simple recipe and only takes about 30 minutes to cook, which was lucky because I headed to the kitchen a bit later than I expected and had to prepare the ingredients as I went along. But all went well.

A few of the cooking steps were to sauté the contents of the frying pan. You sauté food by frying it and turning it over with a spatula, as opposed to stir-frying which is where you keep the ingredients moving all of the time in the frying pan. The only thing to judge is how often to turn the food – if the content of the frying pan is dry then you turn it more often than if it were wet so that the ingredients do not stick and burn.

I cooked basmati rice to eat with the curry and pretty soon I was serving up the meal.

This is a very yellow curry with an almost imperceptible taste of spice. You can just taste the ginger and this curry has that wonderful coriander taste. The fish was well cooked and the curry has a lot of onions (I like onions, so that is not a problem for me). The Fish Curry with Lemon Grass was well received by the diners and received a good taste rating of 7 out of 10 with a heat rating of “very mild”.
