Beef Madras Curry Recipe (version 3) Review

Curry time again around my house and this time I specifically looked for a beef recipe from the great range of Curry Focus recipes. I had bought some beef on special from a local shop so had to use it up. I spotted the Beef Madras Curry recipe amongst the curries and decided to make that one.

I prepared all of the ingredients and started the cooking.

I was a bit confused as to why butter would be used as well as oil for the cooking, but decided to follow the recipe instructions.

I sealed (browned) the beef and then put it onto a plate for later.

There was quite a bit of liquid in the frying pan but I continued by adding butter and oil and cooked the onions.

The recipe is really easy to follow and, before I knew it, the main 90-minute simmering was underway. I added another 1/4 cup of hot water about 20 minutes from the end as the curry was becoming very dry.

The dinner guests were eagerly awaiting their meals and really attacked the food when I served it up.

This is a great curry. It is a dry curry with very tender beef and a delicious taste. It scored 8.5 out of 10 for taste, had a spice rating of “hot” and left a lovely afterburn in the mouth.

If you like a spicy, delicious, curry then this is one for you.
