Chicken Tikka Recipe Review

Hi, Ray here again.

I’ve got a confession to make. I haven’t eaten chicken tikka for over 10 years. Which is quite a long time not to eat what is nearly the UK national dish (chicken tikka masala is the number one dish).

So I thought that I should rectify this omission by trying out the Chicken Tikka recipe from the great range of Curry Focus recipes.

This is a really easy recipe to follow with about the only thing that needs to be remembered is that the chicken needs to marinate in the yogurt and spices for at least two hours in the fridge.

So Sunday morning saw me cutting up the chicken breasts, mixing the chicken pieces with the yogurt and spices and then popping the bowl into the fridge, covered with kitchen film.

Now believe it or not, that’s all the preparation that is needed and all that has to happen now is the cooking.

So I heated up the grill and cooked the chicken tikka, starting the rice in the microwave about half way through the cooking.

So the chicken tikka was served up on a bed of rice to the dinner guests.

And how was it?

It was not very good. It was very yellow and very bland with a lemony taste. I seem to remember that the chicken pieces in chicken tikka were bigger than the bite sized pieces that were called for in this recipe. This was just a yellow mess of cooked chicken.

The chicken tikka only got a score of 5.5 out of 10 for taste with a spice rating of very mild.

I’ll try and make chicken tikka again some time but don’t think that I’ll be using this recipe again. Very disappointing.
